Wambugu Apples do well in both hot n cold areas
Below are interesting facts about Wambugu apple farming in Kenya:
- Starts to produce fruits at 9 months
- Fruits throughout the year
- Life span is over 100yrs producing your fruits
- One acre can be planted maximum of 500 seedlings
- Spacing is 8fts from one tree to the other & from one line to the other.
- You dig holes of 2fts by 2fts by 2fts deep
- You need one bucket of manure & 10litres of water for every plant.
- Dry materials for mulching after planting
- One tree in 5yrs should be giving you over 600 fruits
- Wambugu apples are very big and only 8pcs of fruits make a kg once mature
NB. Note well avoid inter-cropping apples with maize because they poison apple flowers which end up aborting.
